WORKSHOP 1 OCTOBER

ART AND INSIGHTS: Workshop For You!
This dynamic three hour group workshop, where art insights meets vibrational healing, will give you the opportunity to reveal and remove unconscious blocks, discover how to access gateways to new ideas, learn new and fun ways of problem solving that invoke your deeper wisdom, and learn simple tools that you can use every day to revitalise body, mind and soul.

The workshop is a powerful experience, which involves creative activity, experimental art [drawing], vibrational therapy, meditation and the ancient Chinese practice of QiGong. It does not matter if you consider yourself an artist or not, you can access greater insights and higher wisdom through art.

The underlying quest is to discover the power of your own symbolism. The journey is yours.

OCTOBER WORKSHOP
BRISBANE

Our next Art and Insights workshop will be Saturday 1 October 9.30 am - 12.30 pm at the Quaker meeting rooms 10 Hampson St, Kelvin Gove, Brisbane.

THE WORKSHOP
A Brief Description.
  • The workshop involves two types of meditation, one short 'dumping' process and the other a slightly longer one, which Gabriele leads, to assist you in seeing different perspectives.
  • There's a discussion about symbolism, its history, what it might mean to us now, personal symbols, transient and age-old ones. This discussion is lead by Kathryn, a visual artist with a keen interest in symbolism.
  • There's some ancient Chinese QiGong which Gabriele leads. It's a fantastic invigorating and energising technique, that takes only a few minutes. Gabriele recently went to China to work on her own QiGong. Here's a photo she took of a QiGong master in his 80s! We don't make you do anything like this though! Rather, Gabriele introduces you to a self massage type of slapping. Believe us...it is really great.

  •  After a cup of tea we then get to the drawing section of the workshop. You don't need to be an artist! However, you do have to pick up crayons and pencils to explore ideas of symbolism. The first drawing is a 'dumping' one, to really purge the things you may have 'dumped' in the short meditation. After this drawing, and with Kathryn's guidance, you then embark on other drawings which tease out some of the elements you, with Kathryn's help, have identified at things you want to pursue. You will create a number of drawings! And, you will have fun... and find you may have released a lot of tension and stress, at the same time as feeling really good about yourself. Your creativity will be stirred and excited! Part of the drawing process is to experiment with different perspectives too...literal and metaphoric.
  • At the end of the workshop you will do some reflection, either just with yourself or you may like to share it with the other participants [there will never be more than 15 to ensure individual attention]. The workshop finishes with another short session of QiGong.

Each workshop is different, because both Gabriele and Kathryn respond to each person and each group dynamic.

At this link below you will find a list of outcomes you may experience. Of course there may be other outcomes we have not witnessed or thought about. The workshop is experiential, thus each person will experience different things. It is not simply a 'how to' workshop. It is a  deep exploratory experience which will stir your creativity and imagination, both important elements in creating and coping with change, problem solving, life enjoyment, personal and business relationships and so on.

OUTCOMES Art and Insights Workshops

Hello There...Kathryn Here!

Art and Insights Workshop

With more workshops planned for October/November, what kind of outcomes might you expect or anticipate? The workshop is experiential, so outcomes will be different for each person, not only in the kind of outcomes, but also how immediate they might be or how strong. The Art and Insights workshop is not a 'How To' one. It really is a guided process where you discover things for yourself rather than being told.

I have noticed a number of results in the people who have attended recent workshops:
  • Less stress
  • Delight
  • New insights into things and issues which have been bugging them
  • Seeing possibly new ways of doing things in life and business
  • Feeling like a kid again...what joy!
  • Re-energising creativity
  • Seem more motivated
  • A man who declared he'd never filled a whole page with a drawing before. He seemed astonished and delighted as he 'let go'
  • A woman who had had a recurring 'object' in her dreams and meditations, which she 'saw' from a different perspective and felt closer to understanding what the object meant to her
  • Successful confrontation with loss of self esteem caused by utterings from grown ups about childhood art activities
  • 'Seeing' with different perspectives
  • Understanding the potential of universal and personal symbolism
  • Connecting with humanity

If you want to see me 'in action' please have a look at the Youtube video below of a segment from a presentation I recently gave at the C.J Jung Society of Queensland. This was not a workshop, but it will give you an idea of my...for want of a better term... style!

Art and Insights workshops

Hi all you wonderful people. I truly enjoy conducting the workshops with Kathryn, as you have guessed I am not an artist. But, I love art and I admire people like Kathryn who just can create something wonderful. Since co-presenting the art classes with her I have noticed how many people, without any artistic background have created amazing work, and you can see the rejuvenation in them. As one person described it, she feels like a kid again. Which is wonderful and also is one of our aims.

Some of the purposes behind the workshops are:
  • To get you in touch with your inner creativity again.

  • To become more confident and focused within yourself.

  • To release your known and unknown fears and see life differently

  • To understand your own symbolism, why are you always drawing an eye or a circle...

  • To expand mentally, emotionally and spiritually, so you can see your business, yourself, your employees and your family differently.

  • To understand the signals which are given to you constantly, you just have to listen or see and then act upon them.

  • To get yourself out of the rut of daily stress and challenges and see them differently.

Since doing the workshops I have had some wonderful experiences and I seem to look at the world differently. I am more alert and focused and people have noticed it.

So I would like to thank all those people who have already participated because you have helped me in picking up my crayons again. I know I will never be a celebrated artist and this is not my aim. The desire of drawing and painting is only to express my inner emotions, play with colours and enjoy life. I feel that when I now go to an art gallery I look at paintings in a totally different way. I also look at life and nature in a different way, with much more insight then before. I might take up photography.

Have a great day and I hope to meet you soon.
